Yesterday the methane gas produced by 90 flatulent dairy cows exploded in a byre on a German farm, damaging the roof & injuring one of the animals, police reported.
High levels of the gas had built up in the roof area of the building in the central German town of Rasdorf, when “a static electric discharge caused the gas to ignite & explode, with flashes of flames,” the police concluded.
One cow was treated for burns, a police spokesman added.
