View from a Rhino House: “the dog ate my homework”

In the US,“Rosie”, a 3-month-old German shepherd puppy, has been fingered for driving a family car into a Massachusetts pond.

The dog’s owner, John “Mad Dog” Costello, said he walked the dog on Sunday, then got into the car for the ride home & the puppy, as usual, jumped in after him.

“The dog just jumped into the car & hit the gear shift, she pushed it into the “Drive” position & then fell onto the gas pedal,” Costello told the local television station. “The car went for a swim. We all did.”

Canton Police Officer Robert Quirk said the car was completely wrecked after being submerged in the pond, but the dog & owner escaped unharmed.

I suspect there is not a “snowball-in-Hell’s” chance of the insurance paying-out unless the dog makes a full statement, but you have to admire the effort.

Rosie declined to take a sobriety test & refused to make a statement.
