A cautionary seasonal tale.
Just when you thought 2016 couldn’t get any worse the “gifting season” arrives.
An “online holiday-themed apparel retailer” (yes, there really is such a thing) is offering a crystal-studded “ugly Christmas sweater” for the season. Online sweater shop Tipsy Elves has deemed the sweater studded with 24,274 Swarovski crystals “the world’s most expensive ugly Christmas sweater” with a pricetag of $30,000.
According to the product description, the “once in a lifetime collector’s item” took 52 hours to create. The crystals form the image of sack-carrying Santa Claus riding a football-kicking unicorn through space as a ringed planet and twinkling stars float in the background.
The extravagant sweater also ships with a luxury frame so it may be displayed as a work of art when not being worn.
Save for the frame, the crystals and the eye-watering price tag, this just sounds like the sort of rubbish I get sent every year.

Maybe try saving that one for the Easter bunny, kids.
Today I am engaged in piscinatorial combat. I’ll be back tomorrow (if I’m spared).
