In Denmark, last week, workers in a supermarket warehouse had a big surprise when they opened banana boxes from Colombia and found about 100kg of cocaine.

Police said the powder was discovered at a Co-op store in Aarhus, western Denmark, when employees noticed that some of the boxes were significantly heavier than others.

A Co-op spokesman said yesterday that more cocaine was found at the store’s central warehouse facility in Copenhagen on Wednesday, in a second shipment from Colombia.

The spokesman told reporters that the company has contacted their Colombian supplier to complain about the unwanted addition to their “fruit-n-veg” range. Police in both countries are investigating, but haven’t yet made any arrests.
