John had worked hard to win the Press Association's prize this year & he was awarded the gold medal for his close-up shot of the demolition of the last of the city's old slum, tenement building. Posthumously as it turned-out.

Getting the close-up was easy, trying to get a sensible comment about the budget was almost as bad as interviewing yet another Senator…. Working at Fox News on the politics desk really sucked.

Meet the Memoto: a tiny, wearable camera that takes a picture every 30 seconds.

For the price of $279, plus a monthly photo storing fee, you can have access to a digital image of every moment of your (miserable & uninspired) life.

As Socrates said, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Although he couldn’t have imagined anything like this.

“With Memoto, you can effortlessly travel back in time to that moment when you met the love of your life, the day your daughter took her first step, or that night you laughed the night away with friends,” said Martin Kallstrom, chief executive of Memoto.

The device is about 1-inch square and less than half an inch thick. A smooth plastic case houses a GPS antenna, a rechargeable battery that keeps its charge for up to two days and a camera that takes 5-megapixel resolution images. A small LED light lets the wearer know when battery power is winding down.

The photo stream is housed on Memoto’s servers. The camera comes with an app called the Memoto Web Service that lets you access the photos. Users will have to pay a monthly fee. It is not possible to use Memoto without also getting the Memoto Web Service.

The photos are Geo tagged and organized in a timeline that the company said will be easy to search.

Critical comments about the self-centered & smug nature of potential customers for the system……….. would seem to be completely justified; suggestions involving euthanasia or locking them for the rest of their lives in a darkened room are probably a little extreme. Maybe we could vote?

Only for sale to the very very superficial……
