Just another day the office #38

At first Evelyn had been so excited when the editor had told her she would get to travel to Europe & photograph the bull run at Pamplona for the Wichita Sewing & Knitting Gazette. Somehow though, the assignment didn’t seem to be working-out as she had hoped.

Dear Agony Aunts

I have recently met a rather special man & have fallen very much in love. We work together & I think that he may have feelings for me too, but I don’t want to spoil things by seeming too “pushy”.

What would be the best way to find out how he feels about me, & do you think I should wait until after he gets back from paternity leave or should I try calling at his house?

“Lataetia”

Dear “Lataetia”

We don’t really think that you should take this any further. No doubt you could attract the attentions of this man (after all he is almost by definition available to any woman who might take his eye) but you may also attract the attentions of his partner who might be a little less understanding. She may also be armed.

Our advice, & this is based on a number of rather painful personal encounters, is forget the man, don’t go anywhere near his house & kick-back with a strict emotional-recovery regime of alcohol & recreational drugs. It always worked for us.

Dear Aunts

My fiancé has begun to behave very oddly & I think that he might be having some sort of breakdown. Every time I try to talk to him about our wedding plans he just sits & stares out of the window & makes no effort to take part in the conversation. When we go shopping for curtains for our new home he keeps wandering-off & I find him at either the sport’s shop window or outside the computer game’s shop – always with his nose pressed-up against the glass & a strange, longing look on his face.

We’ve been engaged for 5 years & are planning to marry in 2017, when our house is due to be built as part of a new estate. What should I do?

“Gina”

Dear “Gina”

After such a long engagement he is not having a breakdown, more like an attack of cabin fever.

Scrap the plans for 2017 & marry him within the month, even if it means having to live in a garden shed. The only alternative is either to turn him loose or have him put down (if you decide on this course, drop us a line & we’ll be only to happy to offer you a few tips).

Good luck.
