Some years ago Pete had realised that his “plastic pal” Cindy was not only earning him some very odd looks when they went out together, but that she was technically “single use plastic” and horrendously bad for the environment. After months of soul-searching and careful research he finally went public with his new love interest, Paper Pammy. Initial reactions were promising and he certainly no longer got such hostile looks from other passengers but their first romantic weekend away together was a catastrophe; as a result he became a very vocal member of the incel movement and the soggy mess that had been Pammy was recycled into egg cartons.
